# Pieces

> Pieces is an AI-powered productivity tool that builds artificial memory from your everyday workflows. It captures context from what you do across apps, browsers, meetings, and conversations, stores it locally on-device by default, and surfaces it when you need it — through search, a conversational copilot, and MCP integrations. Built by Mesh Intelligent Technologies.

Pieces runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux. PiecesOS — the local engine — powers Long-Term Memory (LTM) and the Pieces MCP server. Memories are saved on-device by default, and you stay in control: pause capture anytime, disable specific apps or sites, and delete data by time, app, or capture type (vision, clipboard, or audio). Audio capture from meetings and conversations is opt-in; vision and clipboard capture are on by default. Pieces fits a world of activities — researching, writing, building, planning, collaborating, and learning — for individuals and teams.
