The inception of Pieces was born out of a vision to fundamentally transform how professional creators manage their workflows. Our co-founders, leveraging experiences from a previous venture called Mesh My Campus—a communication tool for higher education—identified a significant inefficiency in how large files and projects were shared and collaborated upon. 

This realization sparked the core idea behind Pieces: why not focus on the smaller, more manageable elements of projects like code snippets or design layers instead of entire files? This shift in perspective led to the development of a tool designed not just to store, but to enrich, manage, and share these smaller pieces with the aid of advanced AI, thus making the daily grind more intuitive and efficient for developers and creators across various platforms.
